Ditton Priors is a lovely village and this is a superb area in which to have a day out (or even a weekend or a week!). The pub and tea rooms are on hand if you need refreshment. Local attractions include fabulous walking on the Shropshire way, the towns of Ludlow, Bridgnorth and Shrewsbury and the Ironbridge Gorge Museums.
The Industrial Estate where we are located has an interesting past and has been going since the 1940’s. It started life as a wartime admiralty munitions store, with it’s own railhead linking into the main national rail network. At it’s peak more than a thousand people worked on the depot. In the 1960’s American Nato forces were billeted here. Subsequently it was sold into private ownership and today is the home to various small businesses.
Ditton Priors nestles at the foot of the Brown Clee Hill, which has Shropshire’s highest point, Abdon Burf (545m/1790ft) and is designated an area of outstanding natural beauty.
A picturesque village now popular with walkers, it boasts a lively community, with excellent local amenities including a convenience store, post office, butchers, public house, primary school and doctor’s surgery.
Ditton Priors is also steeped in history, from its anglo saxon roots to it’s mention in the Domesday book, its quarrying heritage and its role during WWII.
