Art Deco Style for Door Knobs & Handles

March 30, 2010

written by Vicki Bale

Our new range of Art Deco door furniture includes knobs, handles and matching escutcheon. They are cast from original moulds which have been dusted off and brought back into service. All traditionally made in England.

The range reflects the typical geometric and angular shapes of the Art Deco period of c1910 to 1930’s and comes in a selection of finishes, brass, nickel plated brass and chrome plated brass.  Door handles are available with or without a keyhole, Art Deco door knobs are designed to fit with a mortise lock set into the door. Prices start from £60 + vat per pair in solid brass. They are made specially to order and can be delivered within two weeks. The Door knobs can be supplied with a matching escutcheon.

I wonder if you can help me? I have recently purchased two pairs of art deco door handles/knobs for my internal wooden doors. Which way round do they go? Do the knobs go on the outside of the doors, or on the inside, in the actual room. I have two doors that leave the living room onto hallways. Any help you can give in this connection, would be much appreciated. Many thanks, kind regards, Janice.

If they are a pair of door knobs connected by a spindle one goes on the outside and one on the inside. If they were purchased from us and you are still struggling please call me.
