BATHROOM TURN AND RELEASE
Bathroom turn and releases are really handy little items and are an ideal way to lock a bathroom door. These come with a 5mm bar which passes through a deadbolt mechanism, which we also sell.
When you turn the knob on the inside of the door it moves the bolt to the lock position. Just turn the other way to release. These Turn and Releases can be unlocked from the other side of the door in an emergency, so are ideal if you have children or elderly people in your house.
Other ways of locking bathroom doors include using a door bolt, a bathroom rim lock, or using a door handle with a long backplate which incorporates a bathroom turn and release mechanism. For more information see blog posting, “Ways to Lock Bathroom Doors”
We are finding these are very popular as they look really good, allow the use of any door knob design (if you have a rim lock you have to have rim knobs which may not match ones in other rooms) and have the emergency release feature.
We are adding to our range of bathroom turn and releases all the time. There are 3 designs on the website with different knob shapes, a half moon, an oval knob and an Art Deco. We can offer these in unlacquered brass or polished nickel. Watch out for a new Pewter Patina one, coming soon.
