Welcome to Priors Period Ironmongery! We hope some of the comments on this and previous years feedback will give you confidence in the quality of our products and service. It can be a leap of faith to buy from an unknown website as we know ourselves, being big internet shoppers. We do not pretend everyone is happy with us (hopefully nearly everybody!) as of course things can go wrong. If we do make a mistake we will try to correct the problem as soon as we can. We have been in business since 1997 and are based in rural South Shropshire.
If you need help we are on the end of the phone to answer any queries. Our products can be more complicated than you first think and we are here to help. The most common technical queries we answer are related to door latches and locks, requirements for external doors, the correct size for door knobs, the use of door handles or door knobs, rim or mortise locks, spindle sizes, different types of window fastener, the supply of items outside our on-line range etc. If we can offer quality advice, we can save you time and carriage costs by getting your order right first time. If there is something we don’t know, we will do our best to find out! We can also answer questions on availability. You can also consult our comprehensive blog where we have many articles to assist.
We purchase from suppliers who we have worked with for some years and who’s products we know meet the highest quality standards. We aim to offer the best quality traditional products and we stand by our products over time.

We just wanted to let you know that the letter box plate is totally beautiful, perfect and exactly what we wanted for our doors. It will look very lovely on the doors and at the same time not shout out that it is there either.

Good communication and a very nice product
After searching the web and visiting various hardware shops, we narrowed our search down to Priors, for being the most impressive website, with high quality door handles. We cannot fault the excellent customer service we received from Vicki the owner. If you are not quite sure about what you are looking for, do take the time to call Vicki. She has so much knowledge and experience with door hardware and an excellent relationship with the manufacturers.
Vicki helped us make a decision on the right type of door handles for our Victorian house and we are delighted with the final product. The door knobs arrived, beautifully packaged and within days, rather than the six week lead time. This is the kind of service that sets Priors apart from any other suppliers and we would happily recommend Priors to our friends and family.
I have just received the two brass slide bolts I ordered from you and I have to say that they are quite superb with a great polished finish. Frankly I am delighted with them. I thought that I should let you know of my pleasure at the craftsmanship of the bolts and, of course, the service provided by your company.

Absolutely delighted with the door furniture from Priors – and indeed with the service. Ordered after 6pm and received an instant, personalised, email indicating availability of goods but also a word of warning on the suitability of one of the furniture elements. Following a discussion with Vicki (at about 6:30pm), we altered the order to reflect their recommendation. In addition we received a rebate on the P&P. Quality is outstanding and the end result better than we could have hoped for! Thank you all.

I got the brass pull handle this morning, a lovely design and well engineered.
I received the ebonised wooden beehive door handles this morning. They look great. Just what I needed to match my old ones and as you said they will work on my rim locks too.

The brass Albert rim locks are much more refined than others I’ve seen. I think we will be ordering more for our other doors!
Just to let you know we have received the nickel centre door knob Harley and it is perfect.
Just a short email to let you know we have just received the hooks and escutcheons by post. They are not fixed yet and came without screws but they look very nice and are heavy.
