Refunds and Exchanges for Door Furniture and Window Furniture

1.  Let’s try and avoid refunds and exchanges as much as possible.

Our items in the main are heavy and therefore costly to deliver and if you get it wrong ends up costing us all time and money.

Door Furniture and Window Furniture can be complicated to buy. We are more than happy if you want to talk to us and need advice prior to making a purchase. We are not just a computer terminal, we offer personal service on the phone, by e-mail or at our premises. Do not be afraid to ring and ask what you may think is a daft question! There are lots of articles on our blog which cover many of the issues we are most often asked about.

One of the main reasons for needing a refund or exchange is door knob size, either too big or too small! Please see another blog “How to select the right size door knobs” which will help you to order the correct size door knobs or cupboard knobs first time around.

If you are ordering large multiples of items like door knobs, door handles, cupboard knobs or window fasteners, consider ordering one first to check that it is what you want first. It may seem like more cost up front but it does save in the long run.

Before you checkout on line please double check that the items in the basket are correct.

2. When the parcel arrives

Please inspect the parcel as soon as it arrives. Do not leave it until your carpenter comes to fit the items. If the parcel looks damaged sign for it as damaged or we have no claim on the carrier.

Check that we have supplied what you ordered.

If there is a problem with any door furniture or window furniture, please let us know immediately. We will refund the postage for the return if we have made an error or if goods on inspection are found to be faulty. Please adhere to the return guidelines below.

3. What to do if you need to return items

If the item is not suitable for any reason and you need an exchange or refund we offer a 14 day return policy. We will do this where items are returned in the condition in which they were sold, with all packaging and fixings. We want you to be totally happy with your purchases but the only time we fall out with our customers is when goods are sent back in a shoddy condition. We care about our products and they are not cheap, so look after them! If you return items to us we have to be able to sell them on to someone else.

One of the main causes of problems is where items are returned poorly packaged. Make sure nothing can move around or rub or scratch in transit. Make sure the item is properly wrapped. Make sure all boxes, screws and packaging are included or we will not  be able to refund you or offer an exchange.

Finally once your door furniture or window furniture is carefully packaged return it to us using a recorded service eg Royal Mail First Class Recorded or Special Delivery or by tracked and signed for carrier service. If you do not use a signed service and goods go missing, the responsibility is yours.

Please note we are not able to refund or exchange where items are being specially made to order, so do take that bit of extra time to make sure you are getting what you want.

Yes it is all common sense but we have all sorts sent back to us. To avoid disappointment and aggravation all round please adhere to the guidelines above and all will be well!
